Why price history changes how you buy
A single price tells you what something costs today. A price history tells you whether today is a good day to buy it.
The most common shopping mistake is buying at a price you have no context for. A festive banner says the discount is huge. The price history quietly says the product was cheaper three weeks ago. Authentic Deal exists to close that gap.
Context turns a number into a decision
When you can see the last six months of a product's price, a lot of anxiety disappears. You can tell an inflated-then-discounted price from a genuine drop. You can see whether prices usually fall further during a sale. The history does the arguing for you.
What we chart, and why
- Highest and lowest price in the window, so the current price has anchors
- Average price, so a 'deal' is measured against reality
- The current price marked against the trend, not floating alone
None of this requires the shopper to be an analyst. The chart is glanceable; the takeaway — is this a good time — is the point, not the data.
